The foundation is laid
Sombs Holdings and Ednwil Construction & Civil Works are established, laying the cornerstone for the group's core operational capacity. From day one, the vision was deliberate: to house distinct specialisations under a single unified holding structure — civil engineering, bulk water infrastructure, commercial construction, and mechanical supplies. Those first contracts were modest, but the ambition was immense — to create a family of companies that could carry infrastructure, energy, industrial services, technology, and security all under one roof, driving genuine economic transformation across South Africa.

Building the future
Today, over 500 people wear the Sombhani badge across seven specialised subsidiaries — Sombs Holdings, Ednwil, MinEnviro, New Dawn Information Systems, Aerant Group, Coppersky Security, and MWME Holdings. From 1.33 million litre reservoirs at UJ Johannesburg to a 7.5 km fence in Matjiesfontein, from securing critical national assets to spearheading the Fourth Industrial Revolution transition, each project carries the same promise: to build not just structures, but futures. With Level 1 B‑BBEE certification, a pan‑African outlook, and a deep commitment to community upliftment and local procurement, the group continues to prove that true integration is the most powerful tool for lasting change.
